Tim specialises in revenue law and legal matters relating to business entity and financial instrument valuation.
His in-depth knowledge is bolstered by his extensive banking industry experience acquired from over 18 years based in London, New York and parts of continental Europe. Working on cross-border investment, trading and financial transactions in these international capital markets, Tim focused on arrangements giving rise to difficult questions of international taxation law.
Prior to being called to the Bar, Tim provided commercial advice to Federal Treasury, as part of a specialist task force. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Bachelor of Commerce from the University of New South Wales and has completed a Masters of Taxation, also through UNSW, where he graduated first in his year. Tim lectures in the taxation of corporate finance at the same university and has written professional articles on Australian taxation law which have been published in Australian Tax Review and The Tax Specialist.
