Rashelle Seiden SC

An astute strategist, Rashelle has a reputation for bringing order and clarity to complex cases; especially appeals and applications for Special Leave to Appeal to the High Court of Australia. Rashelle represents government, private and corporate clients in matters as wide ranging as constitutional and administrative law, trusts, corporate and commercial law, insolvency and revenue, including tax crime.

Rashelle was appointed Senior Counsel for the State of NSW in 2013 and has been listed in the Doyle’s Guide every year since 2016. Until August 2019, Rashelle was a Principal Member, and member of the Appeal Panel, of the NSW Civil and Administrative Tribunal (NCAT) and prior to that a Deputy President of the Administrative Decisions Tribunal and had served as Head of the Revenue List where her concise, coherent judgments were often cited or followed.

Prior to joining Ground Floor Wentworth Chambers, Rashelle was a member of Sir Harry Gibbs Chambers in Queensland, a pre-eminent commercial and tax chambers, where her primary focus was representative proceedings in the Federal Court of Australia and tax litigation.

Rashelle holds Master of Taxation, Master of Business Administration, Bachelor of Laws (First Class Honours), and Bachelor of Science degrees. She also holds a Mediator's Certificate from the Dispute Resolution Centre, Bond University and has attended the LEADR advanced mediation workshop.

Rashelle has a genuine commitment to the community and regularly takes pro bono matters, mentors countless barristers and serves on many committees.
