Russ specialises in taxation, tax crime, commercial law and equity matters.

Russ advises and appears for taxpayers, companies and individuals both at trial and on appeal, mostly in complex matters with large volumes of material. He has experience in litigation across various international jurisdictions.

He was licensed in 2005 commencing his practice as an Assistant District Attorney in the United States. Russ is an experienced trial and appellate lawyer, having worked with major firms in the U.S. before settling with his family in Australia in 2010.

Prior to being called to the Bar in 2015, Russ worked as a solicitor in tax crime and revenue matters with Hardinlaw in Sydney. He previously worked with Sydney-based specialty accounting firm, Genesis Accounting, as a tax advisor to businesses and government departments across Australia, with a focus on resolving complex income tax, GST and FBT issues.

Russ holds a Master of Laws from the University of Sydney, a Juris Doctorate from Campbell University School of Law and a Bachelor of Arts from Wake Forest University in the United States.
