The 32 members of Ground Floor Wentworth Chambers are committed to providing pre-eminent standards of independent advocacy and advice. These standards include the provision of efficient and cost effective services to solicitors and clients and extend to the services provided by the Chambers' administration and support staff.
Australian barristers practise as individuals, and not in partnership with each other. The diversity of the barristers practising in Chambers allows members to draw on the depth of experience of fellow members in the range of specialities practised.
Members of the Ground Floor Wentworth Chambers are entitled to practice in all States and Territories of Australia and a number of our members have separate chambers in other States. They are also entitled to practice in New Zealand. In addition, individual members are entitled to practice in such other jurisdictions as Papua New Guinea and the Courts of the Dubai International Financial Centre.
Member barristers practice in the High Court of Australia (Australia’s highest appellate court), the Federal Court, the Courts of Appeal and Supreme Courts, District Courts and various tribunals throughout Australia.
Past and present members have been active in the administration of the bar and legal practice in Australia. In addition, members have been active in other professional bodies such as the Taxation Institute of Australia.
As with all Australian barristers, members of Ground Floor Wentworth Chambers are bound by the provisions of the Barristers' Rules and Legal Profession Acts applicable to their practices which impose certain obligations on barristers as they discharge their duties both to the Court and to their clients. |
